Ricon de la Vieja
National Park
This hike takes place on the slopes of the Rincon de la Vieja volcano the largest in Costa Rica. Where you can admire beautiful primary dry tropical and transitional forest, volcanic activity as fumaroles, boiling water and volcanic mud.
You also have the possibility to see animals like and howler, spider and white face monkeys, coatis, iguanas and many more.
This forest is also home to over 300 species of birds including toucans, trogons and mot mots.
Discover the area and take an invigorating hike through Rincon de la Vieja National Park. This Park is filled with a wide range of natural wonders that includes nine volcanic craters, pristine tropical forests, waterfalls, and hot springs.
The park extends over six life zones, and not surprisingly, has a huge amount of biodiversity. Experience amazing bubbling volcanic mud pots, thermal pools, waterfalls, refreshing streams and unique tropical vegetation during your exploration.
We have 3 different options to do:

The Hidden Waterfall trail 5 hours (3 up and 2 down) Level of trail - Hard

La Cangreja Waterfall trail 5 hours (3 to get there and 2 going back) Level of trail - Mid

Pailas trail – Forest and volcanic activity (2 ½ hour) Level of trail – Easy-Mid
Duration: Full Day.
From 07:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. approximately
